About the role

The Server is a master of the first impression, presenting a friendly, positive and responsive standard of service to provide our guests with the best possible experience. He/she welcomes the guests, takes orders (and provides suggestions if applicable), communicates orders to the kitchen and serves them to the guests once prepared. Lastly, he/she takes care of payments and makes sure all of our guests leave with a smile. All of this is done while making sure that he/she is compliant with the company policies, HACCP and safety standards.

Main job tasks and responsibilities

  • Welcomes the guests, provides them with the menu, takes the order and enters it in the system. 
  • Provides recommendations and suggestions and answers questions in case raised. 
  • Double checks orders when putting them into the system and before serving them to the guests.
  • Runs and serves food and drinks to all stations. Takes responsibility for delivery time and accuracy at assigned section. 
  • Guarantees pre-bussing, refill, and suggestive selling throughout the meal.
  • Presents the check and makes sure the payment is performed. 
  • Maintains line of sight at all moments.
  • Guarantees the guests’ satisfaction and deals with possible complaints (solves them in a timely manner and communicates these to the manager).
  • Provides a great customer service that represents the brand.
  • Is a proficient user in all operational systems (POS, inventory, tasks, reservations etc.).
  • Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of all menus, including limited availability items as needed.
  • Maintains constant communication with management and other colleagues during the shift.
  • Knows the table/section plan and helps set up the restaurant to specified standards.
  • Ensures that all the necessary stock is being replenished at the start and end of the shift.
  • Performs daily cleaning tasks when assigned.
  • Complies with all necessary operational policies including: Health and Safety, Food Hygiene, Maintenance, Emergency Procedures, Alcohol Licensing.
  • Performs other tasks/positions as instructed by the Manager on Duty.

Job prerequisites

  • Ability to speak and understand Dutch and/or English
  • Hospitality experience and HACCP knowledge is a plus
  • Flexibility in working hours (evenings, weekends, holidays)
  • Maintains self-appearance in accordance with the restaurant grooming standards
